Moussa to leave for Tunis on Friday
Regional-Tunisia, Politics, 3/31/2004

Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa said Tuesday that he will leave for Tunis on Friday for a meeting with Tunisian President Zine Al-Abidine Bin Ali as part of a tour which will also take him to Rabat and Algiers.

"There are no reservations as regards holding the upcoming Arab Summit in Tunisia," Moussa told reporters before leaving for the Red Sea resort of Sharm El-Sheikh to meet King of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa, the Chairman of the Arab Summit.

Moussa said that he will have talks with the Bahraini Monarch on the latest developments related to the date and venue of the upcoming Arab Summit.

"Consultations are under way and contacts are going on among Arab leaders and foreign ministers," he added.

"There were no alternatives to the annual summit to be headed by Tunisia," Moussa said, commenting on whether a mini-summit expected in Sharm El-Sheikh will substitute the Arab Summit.
