Governing council: No trial for Saddam before authority transfer

Member of the Iraqi governing council, Yunadem Kena, said yesterday that an open trial for the former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein will only be made under an Iraqi sovereign government.
Kena added "arrangements are now underway to try Saddam and elements of the former regime, but these trials will only be made after handing over the authorities to the Iraqis."
