Free Syria an opposition radio broadcast from Cyprus

Dareed al-Ghadiri who leads the Syrian reforms party, living in the USA announced yesterday that the " Free Syria" ( Souria al-Hurra) radio will start broadcasting tomorrow, March 31st to each of Syria, Lebanon. In a statement issued on the Internet web, al-Ghadiri said that the radio which is financed by "Syrian businessmen" will start broadcasting from the island of Cyprus.
The radio carries the same name borne by the " Free Iraq " radio which is financed by the American government, despite the fact that al-Ghadiri persists he is not financed from foreign sides.
The American authorities refused to comment on al-Ghadiri activities and also denied any link by its side to the radio, despite information rumored on a meeting between him and one official at the US Department Of State in a step which the director of Syria and Lebanon at the US Department Of State, Steve Sach, refused to comment on.
The radio said on its web site on the Internet that among its objectives is to highlight " the benefits of democracy and the freedom of the expression," as well as " the sincere intention of the US policy in the Middle East and the importance of getting rid off the culture of violence."
