Occupation forces in Iraq closed a paper for al-Sader
Iraq-USA, Politics, 3/29/2004
The American occupation forces in Iraq yesterday closed the weekly al-Houzeh, mouthpiece of the Shiite clergy Muqtada al-Sader, on charges of publishing articles urging violence against the American forces.
The chief editor of the weekly Ali al-Yasiri said that scores of the American soldiers closed its offices after they had ordered the workers to leave the place.
He added that the forces threatened to detain them if they do not leave the offices, considering that its subjects and articles provoke people against the USA. The soldiers handed him a message from the American administrator Paul Bremer indicating a violation of an order issued in 2003, bans urging for violence.
