Moroccan-Syrian merchant navy commission to convene in Damascus

The Moroccan-Syrian merchant navy commission will hold its first meeting this March 28-30 in the Syrian capital.
The Moroccan-Syrian high commission meeting, held in October 2001 had recommended the creation of the merchant navy commission with a view to opening a sea line and encouraging ship-owners to transport goods between the two countries.
The high commission also recommended the promotion of sea cooperation and coordination, most importantly with regard to security, environment and transport.
The Moroccan delegation to the joint commission's meeting will be led by director of the Merchant Navy, Azzedine Diouri.
