Maroc telecom to improve GPRS
Morocco-USA, Business, 3/27/2004

Morocco's leading telecommunications provider Maroc Telecom has ordered a GPRS monitoring platform from ADC to supervise its GPRS network that serves over 4 million mobile phone subscribers and 1.2 million fixed-line telephone subscribers, ADC announced in Washington Thursday.

ADC, a world leader in providing global network infrastructure products and services, said in a release that the contract with Maroc Telecom was made via its partner in the region, Audilog.

"Maroc Telecom has always played an important part in developing Morocco's network infrastructure and introducing new services to the region," said Vladimir Waksman, chief executive officer for Audilog.

He added that "ADC's world-class products combined with our local knowledge will help Maroc Telecom to further promote universal access to telecommunications and accelerate the deployment of quality, sophisticated mobile services in the Kingdom."

On his part, vice president and general manager of the Metrica group of the Software Systems Business Unit for ADC, David Heap, noted that "over the past few years, Maroc Telecom's mobile business has grown exponentially with the number of wireless subscribers outnumbering fixed line subscribers four to one." ADC, based in Minneapolis (Minnesota), enables the profitable delivery of high-speed Internet, data, video, and voice services over their customers networks. It has sales into more than 90 countries.
