Mubarak address NDP Women Committee
Egypt, Politics, 3/26/2004

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak, in an all-out dialogue with members of the National Democratic Party (NDP) women committee, stressed that the NDP has taken several measures to enhance women's participation in national action, including making sure that women get their full constitutional and legal rights.

The constitutional updating should go in line with the people's will, President Hosni Mubarak said.

He said the NDP is also working on providing training and political guidance that can qualify women to run for elections and assume senior state posts.

The president said Egyptian women started their struggle for education in 1873 and contributed side by side with men to upgrading the Egyptian society. Mubarak's meeting with the women's secretariat members was preceded by a meeting by the NDP office board.
