Arab States urge EU to halt certain ties with Israel
Regional-European Union, Politics, 3/25/2004
Several Arab states have urged the European Union to halt the social and political negotiations of the Euro-Med partnership with Israel, and to halt dealing with the Israeli representative to the EU due to the Israeli brutal practices against Palestinians, a European diplomatic source reported.
In a statement published on Wednesday by the Saudi al-Watan newspaper, the diplomatic source said the Arab states threatened a full withdrawal from the EU partnership in case it continued dealing with Israel as a basic partner.
