Two Algerian presidential candidates highlight new Moroccan family code

Two candidates for next month's presidential elections in Algeria highlighted the positive reforms in the Moroccan family Code while pleading for similar reforms in their country.
During the electoral campaign, Dr. Said Saadi, secretary general of the "Rally for Culture and Democracy" party (RCD), cited Morocco as, "a Muslim country like Algeria," which has conducted reforms in its Family Code.
Louisa Hanoune, secretary general of the Labour party, extreme left, said that reforms in the Moroccan family Code have improved the situation of women and called for similar reforms in Algeria.
Being the first woman candidate for the Algerian presidential elections, Louisa Hanoune, who was addressing those who refuse the idea of a woman president, asserted that the Algerian woman claim equality with man as a result of her participation by his side in the Algerian liberation war.
