US calls on its citizens in Syria to be cautious
Syria-USA, Politics, 3/23/2004

The American embassy in Damascus called on its citizens living in Syria to be careful after Israel had assassinated Sheikh Ahmad Yassin.

In a message to its citizens, the embassy said "we do expect sentiments and tensions to be very high in the coming days because of the position of Sheikh Yassin." It added " because of the possible demonstrations to take place, the embassy warns the Americans to avoid areas of aggregations and areas where the Americans will be exposed to attack in a nearby future."

The embassy continued " the American citizens are called on to preserve a high decree of cautious and to take necessary measures to ensure their security."
