Al-Assad and al-Shara confers with Zeibari

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad received Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiar Zeibari and the accompanying delegation at the People's Palace on Monday.

President al-Assad expressed support to the people of Iraq to restore their sovereignty and independence.

Meantime, Syria's Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara received on Monday Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zeibari and an accompanying delegation on the latest developments in the region particularly in Iraq.

Al-Shara reiterated Syria's stand by the "brotherly Iraq to maintain its national unity, territorial integrity, independence, to restore sovereignty and to manage its own affairs by itself without any interference."

He stressed Syria's care on security of the Iraqi citizens as her care on security of her citizens.

Al-Shara also noted that the historical ties between Syria and Iraq will remain stronger than any attempts to weaken them.
