Egypt, Saudi Arabia to remove trade barriers
Egypt-Saudi Arabia, Economics, 3/19/2004

Saudi Minister of Trade and Industry Hashim Abdullah Yamani said Saudi Arabia and Egypt have agreed to remove obstacles before trade exchange increase towards achieving integration in various productive sectors in both states.

Speaking to a forum held at the Kingdom's Embassy in Cairo, Yamani underlined the recent visit by Minister of Foreign Trade Youssef Boutrus Ghali to Riyadh last January which turned bilateral trade ties back on the track. The two countries approved removal of trade barriers.

The Saudi Minister said that his country's admission to the World Trade Organization is (WTO) imminent once 50 members states endorse the Saudi request.

Yamani drew attention to the iron and steel prices soaring as a crisis several countries in the Mideast were undergoing. This fact necessitates data and expertise exchange to counter such difficulties.
