Mrs. Mubarak chairs board meeting of Integrated Care Society

The board of the Integrated Care Society, under the chairmanship of Egypt's First Lady Suzanne Mubarak, has agreed to organize a wide-scale campaign during the Reading for All Festival this summer.

The emphasis in the Reading for All Festival this summer will be on advice to parents and teachers on the problems encountered by children in reading and studying, Mrs. Mubarak said.

The board has also approved development plans for the districts of Ain Helwan and Ezbet Arab al-Waldah in Helwan.

In her address to the society's board meeting, Mrs. Mubarak underlined the importance of developing deprived areas in Egypt.

The First Lady called for greater cooperation between the civil society organizations for the development of areas such as Ain Helwan area, Manshiyet Nasser and Shubra al-Kheima.

Development plans for Ain Helwan and Ezbet Arab al-Waldah are aimed at solving the problems of the residents.

Mrs. Mubarak also approved an initiative to be implemented by the Integrated Care Society and the Ministry of Social Affairs to help children with special needs.

The scheme will be implemented with funding from the World Bank.
