Moroccans arrested in connection with Madrid blasts, not on European terror groups list, EU official
Morocco-Spain, Local, 3/19/2004

The "Moroccan terrorist group" suspected of being behind last Thursday's bombings in Madrid, does not figure in the European list of Terrorist organizations, said Thursday, Jonathan Faullle, director general of the European Commission for Justice and Internal Affairs.

He however explained that "the necessary procedures are being carried out" for a possible inscription of this group in that list.

So far, three Moroccan nationals have been arrested in connection with the terrorist attacks that targeted 4 trains in Madrid and its suburbs killing 201 people and injuring over 1.000.

Faull noted that the European Commission has "no miracle solution" to fight terrorism, and called for more coordination and cooperation between the different police and military forces.
