Washington freezes the assets if families if Saddam regime officials

The US yesterday took measures to prevent access in the wealth of 16 members of former Iraqi officials families including the two wives of the toppled Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and his daughters.

The US treasure department said that names of members of the officials families will be enlisted among persons banned from using their resources and assets according to a presidential executive order issued in August, 2003. This order provides for that the American banks to search for the assets of the former Iraqi regime and its senior officials and family members and freeze them.
