Jordanian King in Turkey

King Abdullah II of Jordan discussed with the Turkish President Ahmad Necdet Sezer in Ankara yesterday bilateral relations and recent developments in Iraq and the Middle East.
Abdullah who had arrived in Ankara with his wife Queen Rania, the prime minister Faisal al-Fayez and the foreign minister Marwan Muasher and the minister of planning Basem Awadallah in "a work visit" to continue for two days said in a joint press conference with Sezer "we will have the chance to discuss the regional position and the Palestinian question is of great importance for Jordan."
He added addressing the Turkish president "we will convey to you our position in that the Palestinian question remains to be the essence of the Arab- Israeli conflict." He continued "we will also discuss the situation in Iraq and best means to help the Iraqi people for a secure, free and generous future." Abdullah met in Istanbul later in the day with the Turkish prime minister and several Turkish businessmen "to brief them on investment opportunities provided by the Jordanian economy," according to a Jordanian official source.
Moreover, Jordanian King Abdullah II on Tuesday called for exerting every possible effort to achieve the peace and stability in the Middle East. In a joint press conference with Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, Abdullah said that the Palestinian question represents the basic factor of the Arab - Israeli conflict.
