Okaz: Fattouh criticized the Greater Middle East initiative

The new speaker of the Palestinian legislative Council Rouhi Fattouh strongly criticized the so-called Greater Middle East, saying that Washington wants a big Middle East on its own standards and vision.
In an interview with the Saudi daily newspaper of Okaz published Sunday, Fattouh called on the U.S. Administration to abide by its commitment towards the 'roadmap' and pressure Israel to stick to its commitments and peace requirements.
The Palestinian legislator added that any reform process should be in line with Arab traditions and norms and not the American way. He stressed that peace and security would prevail the region if Israel withdraw from the occupied Arab lands.
