Syrian- Lebanese coordination underlined
Syria-Lebanon, Politics, 3/15/2004
Lebanese Minister of State Talal Arslan stressed the necessity of coordination between Syria and Lebanon to combat the current challenges that face the Arab states.
In a statement, Arslan called for strengthening the national unity in Lebanon, pointing out to the dangerous current conditions in Palestine and Iraq.
Meantime, the two Lebanese MPs Anwar al-Khalil and Ali Khris stressed firmness of the Syrian-Lebanese relations, saying those relations emerged from the pan-Arab and national foundations that bind both countries.
In a statement, al-khalil said that the aim of the so-called "Syria Accountability Act" was to consolidate Israel's occupation of the Arab lands and its rejection and challenge of all international resolutions.
For his part, Khris asserted that the attempt to market the so-called "New Middle East" aims at weakening the Arabs and Muslims and strengthen Israel.
He also called to boost coordination and cooperation between Syria and Lebanon as an example for Arab solidarity.
