Abu Zeid: New agreement grouping Nile basin countries

Egypt's Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Mahmoud Abu Zeid said the coming future will witness reaching a new agreement that groups all the Nile Basin countries for the first time, putting into consideration optimal use of the Nile water and each country's actual needs.
Abu Zeid, in an interview with Akhbar el-Yom, added that several meetings and consultations are held by the Basin countries to lay down the legal and institutional framework for their cooperation, and these consultations resulted in a proposal on setting up a joint organization to manage the Nile water.
