Some 25 Algerian Islamists killed in confrontations with Chad's army

A source close to Chad's army announced the killing of some 25 armed Algerians, members in the "al-Salafeyah group for call and fighting", and four soldiers from Chad in fighting with Chad's army that started on Monday and ended Wednesday.

A group including 50 members of "al-Salafeyah group for Call and Fighting" armed with weapons sneaked on Monday from Niger to Chad.

Chad's national radio announced that the American government congratulated Njamina over its commitment to fighting terrorism.

In a message the President of Chad had received, currently visiting Washington, and broadcast by the national radio, the American government expressed its congratulations and thanks to Chad over fighting terrorism.
