Three Lebanese students were wounded in clashes with the police

Three students supporters for the Christian opposition in Lebanon were wounded and other two arrested following clashes erupted between them and the security forces which banned them from demonstrating at the entrance of the "Yasu'eya" University in Beirut on Wednesday.

News reports in Beirut said that several students were organizing a sit in inside the university complex in protest of the Syrian presence in Lebanon and the immigration of youth abroad to outside the country.

The news reports explained that the students clashed with the security men who tried to prevent them from heading to the parliament, adding that two students from the trend supporting Michael Aoun, who leads from Paris an opposition to the Syrian presence in Lebanon.

One of the leaders of the opposition coalition Samir al-Jamil said that the "the authority's policy, corruption are the basic motives for the immigration of the Lebanese youths outside the country."

For its part, the Lebanese official TV announced that the security forces received instructions to prevent any demonstration or gathering until the end of the municipal elections in May.
