The President of the current rotating presidency of the governing rule in Iraq, Muhammad Baher al-Oloum, said yesterday that the council decided to take part in a delegation at highest level in the forthcoming Arab summit to be held in Tunisia on march 29 and 30.
In a press conference held in Baghdad, Baher al-Oloum said "we have received an official invitation from the Tunisian president Zine al-Abidin Ben Ali to take part in the next Arab summit which will be held in Tunisia by the end of the current month." He added "we have decided in the governing council to have our participation at this summit at the highest levels but the composition of the delegation will be decided then."
The Iraqi TV had announced that the governing council in Iraq received on Tuesday an official invitation from the Tunisian President to take part in the next Arab summit to be held in Tunisia by the end of the current month.
The TV explained that the Tunisian sport minister Abdullah al-Kaabi on Tuesday met with Baher al-Oloum and handed him a message from Ben Ali including the said invitation.
