Italy, Arab League reject ready- made initiatives for reform
Regional-Italy, Politics, 3/11/2004

The Arab League and Italy stressed the necessity for finding just and comprehensive solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict, expressing rejection to the ready-made initiatives for reform.

In a meeting on Wednesday, Secretary General of the Arab League Amr Moussa and Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini warned against ignoring the main causes that the Middle East is suffering from, particularly the Palestinian cause.

For his part, Frattini asserted there is strong link between reform, reaching a just settlement to the Palestinian cause as well as achieving just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

He pointed out that reform should emerge from the core of the Arab states, calling for adopting dialogue in solving disputes among the Arab states and the U.S.A.

He also indicated the importance of enhancing the Arab-European relations, calling for establishing dialogue with the Arabs.
