Syrian- Turkish lawyers cooperation
Syria-Turkey, Politics, 3/11/2004
An official talks session between Syrian Bar Association chaired by its Chief Ahmad Edo and the Turkish Jurist Association in Istanbul chaired by its Chief Hussni Tuna was held on Wednesday. Edo stressed the importance of the meeting which deepens the fruitful cooperation between the jurists and lawyers in both countries.
He expressed hope the meeting will be a step towards strengthening the ties between the two sides praising the role played by Turkish Jurists in their rejection of the human rights' violations in many parts of the world, especially what Palestinians and Iraqis are exposed to under the occupation.
He renewed Syria's firm stance vis-a-vis the Arab just causes calling for putting an end to the sufferings of the people in Palestine and Iraq and halting the brutal acts Israeli occupying troops are practicing against Palestinians.
Tuna, for his part, said that Turkish Jurists will exert every possible effort to confront the pressures Syria is exposed to, adding they will submit lawsuits to convict the Israeli practices in front of the international courts.
