One Palestinian was killed yesterday by the Israeli forces when they opened fire at teenagers throwing stones at the soldiers to the south of Bethlehem, thereby the number of Palestinians killed yesterday increased to five.
Israel alleged it opened fire at Thaer Haroun (14 year old) when he threw one explosive at a patrol in al-Aroub camp for the Palestinian refugees. Meantime, hundreds of angry Palestinians took to the streets of Jenin led by armed men from al-Aqsa martyrs group to take part in the funeral of two of the five Palestinians who were killed by the occupation forces in Jenin to the north of the West Bank.
Earlier news reports said that five members of the activists of al-Aqsa groups of the Palestine liberation movement ( Fatah) was killed by the bullets of the Israeli occupation forces in Jenin to the north of the West Bank.
A Palestinian medical source and witnesses said that the martyrs were the victim of a " liquidation operation ," while the occupation forces alleged that its soldiers were searching for wanted Palestinians when Palestinians opened fire at them and they retaliated to the fire.
News reports said that a special Israeli force opened fire at a Palestinian car ridden by several Palestinian youths from the Fatah movement, noting that they are wanted by the Israeli security departments.
Meantime, the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat stressed that the Palestinian authority is able to meet its security and economic obligations in any part from which Israel withdraws. This came, in conclusion of talks held between the director of the Egyptian intelligence Omar Suleiman in Ramullah during which the two sides discussed coordination over the expected Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
Arafat said that the Palestinian side seeks to convene this meeting and that the Israeli side is the one which obstructs it. However, the two sides did not set a date for the meeting.
