Morocco and Spain sign MoU on fisheries

Morocco and Spain signed on Monday a memorandum under which the European country will help Morocco in the training of aquaculture experts and in exploring fisheries in deep sea.
"Spain has agreed to bring Morocco assistance in deep sea exploration in order to discover new fisheries likely to diversify the Moroccan sea stock," Moroccan fisheries minister, Tayeb Rhafes told MAP.
Spain will also train 15 specialized executives in aquaculture and in building a shipyard, a major axis in the ministry's program for the five coming years, he added.
The document was initialed by secretaries-general of the two Mediterranean countries' fisheries ministries, in follow up of recommendations of the Moroccan-Spanish high joint commission held last December in Rabat.
