Egypt-Kuwait, Politics, 3/9/2004

Egypt's Prime Minister, Atef Ebeid is due in Kuwait on Tuesday, carrying a message from President Hosni Mubarak to Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah.

The message tackles the situation in the Palestinian lands and Iraq besides efforts exerted to close Arab ranks ahead of Tunis Summit.

Ebeid's talks in Kuwait will cover increasing the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Kuwait, removing customs barriers, setting up a free trade area (FTA) and Kuwaiti businessmen's contribution to giant development projects in Toshka and the Gulf of Suez.

The Egyptian Premier is to meet Tuesday evening with director of the Arab Fund for Economic Development Abdel Latif al-Hamad and Director of the Kuwaiti Fund for Economic Development Badr Hamidi.

On Wednesday, Ebeid will meet with members of the Ummah Council Foreign and Financial Committees as well as the members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
