Tennis Standing: Morocco's Arazi leaves first 20 ranks
Morocco, Sports, 3/9/2004

Morocco's tennis player has left the first 20 ranks at the 2004 ATP tour Champions' race standings issued on Monday.

Arazi who did not play last week regressed to the 21st rank.

Spain's Feliciano Lopez, semi-finalist at the Dubai tournament where he was ousted by Swiss Roger Federer who now heads the standing, won 107 standings to occupy the 31st rank. Another Spaniard, Fernando Verdasco, who lost the Acapulco tour finals, also ascended by 60 ranks.

The Champions' Race starts afresh each January and includes only the points won in a calendar year.

A player's position is based on points received from the four Grand Slams, the nine Tennis Masters Series events and his best five additional results from International Series events.

The top eight players at the end of the season take part in the Tennis Masters Cup.
