Tripoli: ministerial reshuffle; Washington announces end of dismantling nuclear program

Libya on Saturday handed over the US the last components if its nuclear program and this is to be followed by other steps in order to show its commitment, to the signature in Vienna this week on the additional protocol of the NPT which permits subjecting its establishments to sudden inspections.

Meantime, the Libyan people's general congress ( the parliament) on Saturday concluded its works and made a ministerial reshuffle in the government which is chaired by Shukri Ghanem, according to which four ministries were established and new seven ministers are appointed in the context of the changes led by col. Muammar al-Qathafi in his foreign economic and political relations.

The spokesman for the US national security council announced that more than 500 tons of equipment relating to the last part of the program to develop nuclear weapons and missile manufacturing, left Libya by sea heading for a secret place in the USA, noting that this represents the last part of what is left in Libya of known equipment, linked to the special program on nuclear weapons as well as its missiles of long range and missiles launching platforms.

However, diplomats in Vienna said that Libya will sign the additional protocol of the NPT appendix this week in order to show the extent of its seriousness to give up the mass destruction weapons and its approval on the sudden inspection operations.
