Former UN chief criticized US policy in Iraq
Iraq-USA, Politics, 3/6/2004

The UN Former Secretary General, Butros Butros Ghali, has criticized the US policy in Iraq.

In an interview with the German TV Program "Monitor" broadcast last night, Ghali said ''What is going on in Iraq doesn't serve combating terrorism. It will lead to more international terrorism."

He raised a doubt about the credibility of the current US administration regarding democracy saying that the U.S is a democratic state but not in its foreign policy.

Ghali added that the democratic practice in the international political circles would bring the participation of members of the international community in taking decisions.

He pointed out that when decisions are taking by only one side, one cannot speak about democracy.
