Syria renews call to make the ME a zone from of WMD
Syria-Regional, Politics, 3/6/2004
Syria on Thursday night reiterated its call to the UN Security Council to adopt its draft resolution on making the Middle East a zone free of weapons of mass destruction (WMD).
In a statement read by Syria's Permanent Representative at the UN, Faisal Mikdad, while discussing the dangers of terrorism on the international peace and security Thursday, Syria called on the international community to combat terrorism and WMD, warning against the danger of two meeting together.
Mikdad stressed Syria's condemnation to terrorism, asserting the importance of looking at its roots to combat it.
He also underlined Syria's belief that the one who kills people, demolishes homes, and changes the reality in an occupied land is a terrorist.
