Morocco-Regional, Politics, 3/3/2004
Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives, Abdelouahed Radi, said Tuesday conditions are not yet gathered for the creation of an Arab parliament.
The Moroccan official, who took part this week in the 11th congress of the Arab parliamentary union in Damascus, told MAP the creation of this body, which should be integrated as part of the Arab League reforms, cannot substitute for the Arab parliamentary union which is a forum for debates between Arab parliaments.
Radi said it is necessary to establish confidence between the Arab states and to overcome and address inter-Arab disputes, before taking such a move that will be tabled on the agenda of the Arab summit end of this month in Tunis,
