Media production hits 1.5 billion a year

Information Minister Safwat Al-Sherif said in speech to a conference on Information and Multimedia, that Egyptian media was up to meet the challenges of today's globalization.
The Minister's speech was read out by Nile Sat Director, Amin Al- Basyouni.
Director of the Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) Raafat Radwan, said media industry has the potential to absorb the unemployed youths.
The Egyptian media production hits $ 1.5 billion a year.
Such a production can be marketed in the Arab states with a huge population of 280 million people.
He added that Egyptian media should be ready to counter the severe competition among space channels of the other Arab states.
