Kuwaiti constitutional movement reconsiders its position concerning woman
Kuwait, Politics, 3/2/2004
The Islamic constitutional movement in Kuwait has taken an important step in boosting its vision concerning political participation mechanism. It had announced it will assess and study its position concerning the political rights of women in light of new developments and conditions and defining position concerning them.
This step coincides with the movement's setting up of its new political office as it is viewed a fundamental change in its position which rejects, as all Islamic trends in Islam, approving the political rights of women.
The new secretary general, Bader al-Nashe, announced in a press conference other new proposals that constituted a qualitative turning point in the political movement's project. He said that the current phase is filled with local, regional and international changes which require coping such developments.
