Israeli forces incur in Gaza, detain five Palestinians in the West bank
Palestine-Israel, Military, 3/2/2004
The Israeli occupation forces yesterday detained nine Palestinians during breaking in operations in several cities and villages of the West Bank on Sunday evening. Among the detainees, according to one Israeli military spokesman- were three activists in the al-Aqsa group of the Palestinian national liberation Movement ( Fatah ) and activists in the Islamic resistance movement ( Hamas).
In another development, the Israeli police said it had detained three Palestinian teenagers ( aging 12, 13 and 15) under the pretext that they were preparing to implement an attack in al-Afoula city inside the green line.
These acts of detentions coincided with the Israeli occupation forces re-opening of the industrial zone in Beit Hanoun crossing ( Erez) between Gaza and Israel.
The Israeli authorities blocked this area which includes 200 industrial workshops in which thousands of Palestinians are working on Thursday following an attack against a military barrier that resulted in killing one Israeli soldier claimed by al-Aqsa martyrs groups.
The Israeli occupation forces during the two past days intensified operations to liquidate the Palestinian resistance men and assassinated two members of al-Aqsa group in Balata camp near Nablus on Sunday, just less than one day from an assassination operation carried out by the Israeli Apache planes in Gaza in which three Palestinians were murdered from the Islamic Jihad movement.
On the other hand, 8 Palestinian prisoners were injured yesterday after the authorities of a prison in Beer al-Sabaa attacked them and three of them were taken for medical treatment while the prison's authorities isolated other 15 prisoners in separate cells.
