US Ambassador underlines role of Syrian women in society

US Ambassador in Damascus Margaret Scobey on Thursday highly appreciated the efforts exerted by Syrian Woman to promote her role in society referring to the increasing numbers of women who work as ministers, MPs, doctors and lawyers.

During a press conference held in Damascus on the occasion of the woman's National month in USA in the beginning of next March, Scobey added that the US Embassy in Damascus is very pleased to invite Syrian people to take part in its celebrations of the woman's role in society.

"US Embassy has issued several activities, under the patronage of Culture Minister in Syria, which include honoring some talented women in Syria in order to enhance the cooperation between Syrian and American people," she said.

She underlined that the activities will begin by holding an artistic exhibition includes acts for Syrian and American women in Khan "Asaad Basha" on March 1st, in addition to showing a film for the woman writer Virginia Wolf.
