Beshara and the Israeli wall
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 2/26/2004

Palestinian intellectual Azmi Beshara on Wednesday said there was an Israeli consensus to carry on building the apartheid separation wall in the Palestinian territories.

In an interview with the Arabic speaking Monte Carlo radio, Beshara said the project of the wall was first presented by the Israeli Labor Party then adopted by the Likud Party, and all differences on this question were just over its path, not more.

Meanwhile, member of the Israeli Knesset Mohammed Baraka said in a statement upon arriving the Hague to defend the issue of the fence " we are here to say that removing the apartheid wall of Israel will keep a place for the Palestinian state, otherwise; we are close to a very risky time."
