Israel kills one Palestinian on the border

News reports in Beirut said that the Israeli forces killed yesterday a Lebanese citizen near al-Wazzani town close to the borders with Israel.

It added that one Israeli patrol opened fire at the two Lebanese brothers Ali and Jafaar Muhammad Mustafa after they had entered the Israeli territories and one of them was killed immediately and the second returned back to his village. The Lebanese police is investigating the matter.

The Lebanese police said that the two brothers were grazing their sheep in the area.

The Israeli army stressed that its forces killed one man at the border line near Meyan Baroukh after he tried to exceed the security fence through a water passage carrying two bags, as the Israeli army alleged.

Al-Wazzani is situated near the under dispute Shebaa farms in south Lebanon. Israel continues occupation of this area which it had entered since its occupation of the occupied Syrian Golan heights in 1976. Beirut demands Israel's withdrawal from this area and returning it back to the Lebanese sovereignty.
