Maher, Obeid joint press conference in Cairo

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher described the Arab peace initiative adopted by Beirut Arab summit two years ago as the basis for any movement to reach just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East. Maher, in a joint news conference with his Lebanese counterpart Jean Obeid after a meeting that the Arab initiative should be part of international effort to bring peace to the region.
He added that he and Obeid shared identical points of view on the necessity of Arab solidarity and exerting double efforts for the best benefits of the Arab issues. For his part, Obeid rejected all attempts to settle the Palestinians in the host countries, saying they have a right to return home.
