Riyadh confirms that one wanted was killed

Saudi Arabia's ministry of the interior stressed that one activist of al-Qaida organization listed on the list of 24 wanted in the kingdom was killed.

The Saudi official news agency quoted an official source at the ministry that Amre al-Shahri (23 year old) was hit in a fire exchange with the security forces three months ago in Riyadh and was held by his friends before he died.

The Saudi daily Okza said that the security forces on February 5th took the body of a person presumed to be Amre al-Shahri from a tomb in a desert area, 30 km from the Saudi capital.


This list of most wanted was issued on December 6th 2003 by the Saudi ministry of the interior together with a reward for one who gives information leading to detaining the 26 wanted. They are 23 Saudis, two Moroccan and one Yemeni.
