Kuwait bans Bahraini citizens from entering its lands
Bahrain-Kuwait, Politics, 2/19/2004

The Kuwaiti authorities prevented Bahraini citizens, the chairman of the national reconciliation society, Ali Salman, member of the Democratic national labor society council, Ibrahim al-Sharif, from entering its lands.

The two men headed to Kuwait to apologize to the Kuwaiti delegation which was banned by the Bahraini authorities from taking part in the political societies conference which was held in Bahrain. Then, the Kuwaiti delegation included political figures having among them the former speaker of parliament Abdul Mohsin al-Saadoun, and Abdul Mohsin Jamal, and Adnan Abdul Samad.

For his part, the chairman of the national reconciliation society said that he asked, together with members of the democratic national work council, Ibrahim al- Sharif, the Kuwaiti official in charge to give justifications according to which they were banned from entering Kuwait. The employee kept silence.

Ali Salman held responsible for what had happened to him and Ibrahim al-Sharif to the government of Bahrain which said that it had requested the Kuwaiti authorities from banning several participants in the conference from entering the Kuwaiti territories. Salman stressed that there is no problem that bans the entry of Kuwait, noting that he had recently visited Kuwait.

Salman said "our aim of the visit was to apologize to the Kuwaiti parliamentarians who were banned from entering Bahrain. We intended to provide them with papers of the conference from which they were banned to take part."
