Agha Khan confers with Syrian ministers on bilateral cooperation

Prince Karim Agha Khan, the spiritual leader of the Ismaelite Moslems, received the Minister of Education Ali Saad in his residence on Sunday evening in Damascus.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the fields of cooperation between Agha Khan Network for Development and the Syrian Education Ministry, particularly the development of education system, the rehabilitation of the relevant personnel, improving education to rise to the level of international level in this field.
The prince also met the Minister of Health Mohammad Eyad al-Shatti. Talks dealt with the program of the health in the villages in which the Agha Khan Network for Development participates, improvement of the quality of basic social services in the rural societies, prospects of economic development, improvement of the health, technical administration as well as clinical care in many medical facilities.
His highness also met the Minister of Culture, Mahmous al-Sayyed, where both discussed the projects being built in Syria by the Agha Khan Institution for Culture with the cooperation and supervision of the General Directorate of Archeology, including the restoration of Aleppo Citadel, Missiaf Citadel, the Ayyoubi Compound at Saladdin Fortress in Lattakia.
Talks also dealt with organizing training courses for the staff of the General Directorate of Archeology on the internationally-adopted methods in the fields of restoration of historical antiquities and relics.
The meetings was attended by Mohammad Seifo, the Representative of The Agha Khan Network for Development in Syria. The Agha Khan Network for Development is a group of non-profit development agencies and firms that aim at contribution in the economic, social, scientific and educational development in many countries across the world.
