Saudi Arabia, Local, 2/14/2004
In a statement quoted by the Saudi official news agency yesterday, the Saudi Arabian ministry of the interior warned the people of Riyadh against the possibility of some elements using a booby trapped car in an attack.
The statement said that the "Ministry of the interior directs the attention of citizens and the residents especially those who live in Riyadh that there are confirmed information that one car owned by one wanted was booby trapped by large amounts of explosives to be used in a criminal act."
On the other hand, the Saudi daily Okaz said yesterday that the Saudi security forces arrested a chemistry teacher over suspicion of his relations to " terrorism" and having weapons that can be used in making bombs and explosives. The paper added that the teacher was detained in Aseer area and is being interrogated. It gave mention only to its last name, al-Shahri, the family of one of the main extremists wanted by the Saudi authorities and reports said he was killed.
