Egypt: parliamentarians accuse government of bringing Israeli experts
Egypt-Israel, Politics, 2/12/2004
Egyptian parliamentarians belonging to the Islamic trend yesterday strongly criticized the Egyptian government accusing it of using Israeli experts in agricultural and economic projects.
In a memorandum addressed to the prime minister Atef Ebeid, the parliamentarians said they have documents proving that the government's ministries used more than 9 Israeli experts during recent weeks.
The representative of the Ijhwan al-Muslimine (Muslim brothers) group, Mustafa Awad Allah, reminded that the Israeli spy, Azzam Azzam, who is currently jailed in Egypt, entered the country in his capacity as an industrial consultant and it was found out he is an officer in the "Mossad" to form a spy network in Egypt for Israel.
Awadallah deplored the ministry of Agriculture and said it used Israeli experts. He added that "all research proved that projects in which Israelis took part are a failure, and led to the collapse of the Egyptian horticulture."
