Hamburg court clears Moroccan Mzoudi of 9/11 charges
Morocco-Germany, Local, 2/6/2004
The court of appeal of Hamburg cleared this Thursday Moroccan national, Abdelghani Mzoudi, of charges of complicity in the 9/11 events.
Mzoudi whose trial opened last August was accused of "belonging to a terrorist organization" and of "murder complicity in more than 300 cases." He faced up to 15 years in prison.
Mzoudi, who first went to Germany in 1995 to study electric engineering at the Technical University of Hamburg, was denying any part in the terrorist attacks preparation and chose to remain silent all along the trial.
He was first cleared of charges last December after new evidence by an unidentified informer clearly exonerates him of suspicions.
