Med partners prepare training programs on rules of origin
Regional-European Union, Local, 1/31/2004

Draft Training Programmes on Rules of Origin have to be drawn up by Mediterranean Partners by late February as a follow-up to the Training Seminar on 'Extending pan-European cumulation of origin to the Mediterranean Partners', which was held from 19 to 23 January in Brussels within the MEDA funded Euro-Med Market Regional Programme.

National Training Programs will include information and awareness-raising aspects for businesses, customs services, as well as relevant administrations and institutions. The Seminar was the first in a series of eight held within the second phase of Euro-Med Market, which aims to help Mediterranean Partners prepare themselves for the future Euro-Mediterranean Free Trade Area. It enabled Mediterranean officials and other practitioners to acquire more in-depth knowledge of Rules of Origin and training methods in this area.
