Three Palestinians killed, Hamas plans to kidnap for exchange
Palestine-Israel, Military, 1/31/2004
Sheikh Ahmad Yassin, founder of the Islamic resistance movement, Hamas, said that capturing Israeli soldiers and exchanging them with Palestinian detainees is the only solution for solving the question of the detainees, because "Israel only understands the language of force."
Sheikh Yassin added that al-Qassam groups have planned and are planning and will plan for such operations. He renewed what was stated by groups of Ezz Eddine al-Qassam in their statement to its responsibility for the recent Jerusalem operation, later adopted by al-Aqsa group of the Fatah movement.
The occupation forces demolished the house of Ali Jaara in Aida camp, in Bethlehem. The occupation forces had broken into the city and its camp, and launched a campaign of arrest and detention in the circles of the Palestinians.
Al-Aqsa martyrs group, al-Quds groups, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, announced that the two Palestinians who were killed near Beit Lahia belong to al-Aqsa martyrs groups.
In a statement, the movement said that the two men are Muhammad Khalaf and Muhammad al-Ashqar and they were killed during clashes of a joint group composed of al-Aqsa group and al-Quds group with the occupation forces near Doughit settlement, and this resulted in destroying an Israel vehicle and killing its occupants, according to the statement.
In the surrounding of Ramullah in the West Bank, the occupation forces demolished 10 houses in several villages.
In an Israeli retaliation to the Jerusalem operation, the Israeli occupation forces incurred into the city of Bethlehem earlier on Friday morning.
A Palestinian security source said that the Israeli soldiers broke into the city escorted by scores of armored vehicles, and started a campaign of arrest and breaking in, in the two camps of al-Dheisha and Aida, and at least detained 14 Palestinians in the so far continuous operation.
This however, coincides with Tel Aviv's official cassation filed with the International Court of Justice in the case of the wall of separation Israel is building on the lands of the West Bank and Gaza. The Israeli cassation coincides with the end of the grace period put by the court for handing over the legal documents needed from the sides concerned including a report by the UN.
However, the secretary general of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, expressed his hope that the intervention of the US on the liability of the International Court of Justice to consider the question of the wall of separation in favor of the international and Humanitarian law. Moussa said following his meeting with the Chinese President, currently visiting Cairo, that the wall of separation is illegal.
