ad-Dustour: European official and the Israeli Separation Wall
Palestine-European Union, Politics, 1/27/2004

Head of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the European Office of Humanitarian Aid ( EOHA) denounced the apartheid separation wall being built by Israel in the West Bank, describing it as one of the most atrocious, inhuman practices perpetrated against the Palestinian people.

Witbird told ad-Dustour Jordanian daily in a statement published Monday that the wall has aggravated the already tragic situation of the Palestinian people who have been isolated from social or health services and prevented from moving to or in their cities and villages.

Witbird is currently on a regional tour to visit countries hosting Palestinian refugees. The European official said Israel's policy of siege and restrictions imposed in the West Bank have greatly affected ability of the international humanitarian organizations to bring relief aid to the needy Palestinians on time.
