American occupation release al-Jazeera photographer in Iraq
Iraq-USA, Politics, 1/26/2004
The American occupation forces in Iraq released al-Jazeera TV station Suheib al-Samerei after two months of his detention.
The spokesman for al-Jazeera Jihad Ballout said that al-Samerei left Abu Gharib prison to the west of Baghdad after "officials in the coalition found no accusations to be addressed against him."
The American forces had arrested al-Jazeera photographer on November 18, 2003 upon covering incidents in Sameraa, to the north of Baghdad, where it confiscated the camera and tapes with him and addressed no accusations to him during his detention.
