Palestine-Israel, Politics, 1/26/2004
The Hamas official, Abdul Aziz al-Ranteisi, said that the movement might announce a ten- year truce with Israel if it ( Israel) withdraws from the lands it occupies since 1967. Al-Ranteisi said in a press statement that Hamas has reached the conclusion that it is difficult to liberate all Palestinian territories in this phase, and therefore it accepts gradual liberation.
He added that Hamas accepts the foundation of a state in the West Bank including Jerusalem and Gaza. He said that Hamas proposes a truce that might last for 10 years for Israel's withdrawal and the foundation of a state.
